I was always hoping and looking for a very best friend

I was always hoping and looking for a very best friend
Someone that could love me in the way that I needed to learn
how to love
Someone that could speak and live truth so I could follow her
way
Someone that loved adventure so I could experience
everything
Someone that could laugh and relax so I could enjoy life as
entertainment
What I found was pieces of a best friend
In finding things that I loved to do
In serving others through life coaching, spiritual instruction,
meditation
In following my attractions: hiking in and photographing
nature, watching movies, telling stories and writing stories for
others to read and enjoy
I found my best friend in the loves of what I like to do
I found my best friend in the service of making others’ lives
better
I found my best friend by doing what I wanted and discovering
that it made me more capable of living and loving others
I found her by being true
By being Authentic
I found that my best friend was myself
And she was found right where I am always standing
And she is found with all whom I participate with
And she is learned in the art of living
Loving life is what my best friend taught me and gave me
